ABOUT 72STORIES

Phase 2 – Community Outreach

This world is in crisis. Lives are broken. People feel hopeless. They hear of Jesus Christ but they don’t know anyone whose life was changed by Him. They think Christians don’t understand their pain. Why? Christians don’t share their testimonies. No transparency or authenticity. No stories of how Christ rescued broken lives. No stories of recovery from addiction, divorce, financial crisis, health crisis, or other adversity. Christians hide inside their church walls. Our neighbors are searching online for answers. Where are the published testimonies on the frontpage of church websites? We didn’t find one on 2,000+ church websites we checked.

It is our phase two mission to encourage believers across America to share their testimonies on the front page of their church’s website. We have a vision for the 2020s when the front pages of church websites are predominantly stories of how Jesus Christ has changed lives. Search engines will index those stories and our neighbors in crisis will find them. After word gets around that church websites have a new purpose, our neighbors in crisis will naturally consider visiting local church websites in search of solutions. Our Testimony2020 national church event will be a celebration of the testimonies that are shared on church websites. It will also be an opportunity for the church to share the stories on their websites with their families, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and local media.

Phase 1 – Church Unity and Growth

We understand that believers across America aren’t eager to share their stories with the public. The truth be told, many people within our congregations are reluctant to share what Christ has done in their lives with their brothers and sisters in Christ. Many believers who struggle with addiction never know that the person who has been sitting next to them in the pew all these years also went through a season of drug addiction. Their story of recovery is kept a secret, known only to their closest friends. Our lack of transparency with the public flows out of our lack of transparency with our brothers and sisters.

It is our phase one mission to encourage believers to share what God has done in their lives with their brothers and sisters in Christ inside of a congregation. We will help believers through the process of discovery, the preparation, and the sharing of their faith stories (testimonies). We will help church leaders foster a new culture of transparency and authenticity in their congregations.

we aren’t going to walk into churches and experience believers eager to signup to share testimonies.
