Lachlan Murdoch

Dear Father, Lachlan Murdoch, 46, is the eldest son of American media mogul Rupert Murdoch and his second wife, a writer named Anna Murdoch Mann. Lachlan is the executive chairman of Nova Entertainment and the executive co-chairman of News Corp and 21st Century Fox. He was a student at several elite private schools in his youth before graduating from Princeton University in 1994. Lachlan has held a variety of executive titles and positions in his father’s lucrative publishing and media empires. He has been able to invest in various technologies and sports leagues. He resigned from his father’s News Corp in 2005 after a dispute about Roger Ailes, the man who subsequently turned Fox News into a giant. Lachlan has returned to the family business and he is now being groomed to take over Fox News, Fox Sports, and the Fox broadcasting channel once his father retires. His brother James, who is more liberal in his beliefs, is expected to take on a leadership role at Disney after the Murdoch family sold entertainment assets to the entertainment conglomerate. Lachlan is married to Sarah and they have two sons, Kalan, 13, and Aidan, 11, as well as a daughter Aerin, 7. Father, Lachlan will not take his wealth, power, and influence with him into the grave. The only thing that truly matters to his life is his relationship with You. Father, I know You love him and you desire that he turn his life over to You. Father, do that very thing. Bring him to faith and bring him into the church. Use his fame and influence to spread the word of the love of God to millions around the globe. Amen.

U.S. Oil Production

Dear Father, it has been reported that the U.S. may become the world’s biggest oil producer by the end of 2018. This is a substantial change for America. In the 1970s, during my youth, America was experiencing an energy crisis as foreign governments controlled the price and the inventory of barrels of oil. America was dependent upon these governments for affordable oil to keep our nation functioning. This had a dramatic impact on geopolitical relationships, forcing America to take sides with countries who controlled the oil supply. The energy crisis was a major reason why foreign auto makers successfully invaded America and soon dominated domestic auto sales. Now, the tables have turned. Advancements in fracking and shale technologies have empowered the American oil industry. In October of 2016, U.S. net oil imports had dropped to below 2.5 million barrels a day, the lowest since 1973. As a result, an administration with a nationalistic foreign policy will be empowered by energy independence. Experts predict America will open more wells in areas of concern for environmentalists, assuring our status as the dominant oil producer on earth. Overseas oil producers will be forced to lower prices to keep a foothold in the American market. Russian’s influence in international politics will be lessened without the leverage of controlling oil production and distribution. China and Japan will be more dependent on Middle Eastern oil than the U.S., a fact that could alter international relations. Father, take charge of this development. May Your will be done with it. Watch over the international relations aspects of this, maintaining peace. May the ultimate impact of this development be the strengthening of the church in America and the ability of the church to touch lives around the world. May this development lead to the greater effectiveness of ministries and relief organizations that serve the poor around the world. Yes, Father, protect our environment. May America’s energy independence not come at the expense of lasting damage to this beautiful world You have created. Amen.

Josh and Charity Birkey

Dear Father, it has been reported that the 2-year-old son of the youth pastor at Metro Baptist Church in Goodlettsville, TN has passed away less than a week after being diagnosed with a mass on his brain. Alec was said to have been healthy and energetic only two weeks ago. I understand that Your church in the region, as well as people from the community, are rallying to support this young family. Father, I join the prayers of their family and friends and ask for Your comfort to be poured out to this family in their season of grief. May they feel incredible peace and joy through this very dark hour, especially knowing their little one is with You – too young to be held accountable for wrongdoing . I ask that You meet their every need. I also pray for Your blessings on the expected birth of their second child, a girl, in April. May that girl have a blessed life and may she dedicate her life to Your honor and glory. Amen.

George Soros

Dear Father, George Soros is a Hungarian-American investor, business magnate, philanthropist, and political activists. He is reported to have a net worth of $ 8 billion. He built his wealth through the successful management of risky hedge funds and a clever short sale of the British Pound in the 1992 UK currency crisis. Many credit him with playing a significant role in the fall of communism in Europe. George invests his money into liberal and progressive causes, exemplified by his donation of $ 18 billion to his progressive Open Society Foundation. George has an influence on American politics. He is a financial resource for the Democratic Party. Many consider George to be one of the leaders of globalism, making him an “enemy” of nationalists. George has been married three times and divorced twice. He has five children, ranging in age from 30 to 55. His current wife is said to be younger than his three oldest children. Father, first and foremost, like all of us, George is a human in need of forgiveness for his rebellion from You. Father, I pray that You will pursue him and bring about his spiritual transformation. You can do all things, including bringing a man of extreme wealth and power into Your church where he can serve others. May he too have a “Damascus Road” encounter with You. May godly men and women disciple and mentor him. I ask that his wife or one or more of his children will also come to faith in You. I pray that You will oversee and supervise his political influence. If what he wants to advocate for is in alignment with Your will, bless his efforts. If his political advocacy is not in alignment with Your will, frustrate his efforts. I ask that his wealth and influence will be subservient to You and Your intentions, regardless of whether or not George desires to serve You. Amen.
