Dear Father, Stacy Ann Ferguson otherwise known as “Fergie”, is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and business woman. She was a child star on Kids Incorporated before becoming a member of The Black Eyed Peas. At one time she was addicted to crystal methamphetamine. She credits hypnotherapy for her recovery. She launched her own solo career in 2006 and has enjoyed much success. A few months after she married Josh Duhamel in January 2009 she disclosed that she is bisexual. The couple has a four year old son. They were separated in September 2017. She is in the news today because her national anthem performance yesterday at the NBA All-Star Game has been widely lambasted.  Father, she was created by You.  You knitted her together in her mother’s womb because You wanted to walk with her and enjoy a relationship with her.  You gave her the musical talent she has enjoyed.  Father, I ask that You reach out to her and draw her to Yourself.  Give her a “Damascus Road” experience where she is suddenly confronted by the reality of Your deep love for her.  Transform her heart and mind.  Lead her into faith.  Father, if she is struggling today with the criticism she has received in the last 24 hours, use it to create a spark within her to find You.  I ask that she will have an amazing testimony one day of her new spiritual life that she found in Christ.  I ask that You will lead her son into a personal relationship with You.  May he inspire many people to turn their hearts towards God.  Father, meet whatever needs Fergie has this hour – spiritually, emotionally, and physically.  Protect her from any instability that could come from the press she is receiving today. Amen.

Dear Father, Bangladesh is a country of 160 million people in Southeast Asia bordering India and Myanmar. The largest city, Dhaka, has a population of 15 million, mostly young people. The nation was formed in 1971 after a war of independence from Pakistan. Democracy was restored to the nation in 1991 after a military coup in 1975. The country has had a female Prime Minister since 1991, either Sheikh Hasina of the Awami League (secular ideology) or Khaleda Zia of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (pro-Islamic ideology). Both women have had turns in office and Hasina is the current Prime Minister. The county has often experienced crippling natural disaster as a result of tropical cyclones. A flood in 1998 left 30 million homeless. Many believe Bangladesh is the most vulnerable nation to the consequences of rising sea levels from global warming. 90% of the population are Muslim, which is the official state religion, and 9.5% are Hindu. The people of Bangladesh are seeking assistance to help them build their economy and businesses, secure their water and food supply, reduce the risk of natural disaster, and improve their infrastructure. However, the nation is also known for having severe corruption in every sector of government. Politicians and bureaucrats of good character appear to be hard to find in the country. This corruption has enhanced the problems facing the country and it has resulted in less foreign investment, stagnant economic growth, and an increase of the problem of human capital flight, the loss of skilled citizens as they immigrate to other countries. Father, a friend of mine is in Dhaka this very hour, doing what he can to help business men be effective in their work and to unite together in Christ.  I pray for his safety and protection.  Bring him back home safely to his family in the US.  However, when he returns home may he bring with him stories of how You did extraordinary things while he was in Bangladesh.  Father, I pray for this nation.  Bring about spiritual revival.  Less than 1% of the population knows You.  Given that You are the only God of justice, righteousness, truth, faithfulness, kindness, and goodness, it is not surprising that the country is having such a problem with corruption.  Father, plant churches throughout this nation.  May those churches be led by truly godly men and women who have surrendered their lives to You.  Give them courage and boldness, skill and wisdom.  Give them protection and protect their ministries.  I ask that those ministries explode with effectiveness so much so that it will be reported in 2028 that 10% of the nation is Christian.  Speak into the hearts of Sheikh Hasina or Khaleda Zia and transform their minds.  Father, have mercy on this population.  Give them some rest from natural disasters, gain victory over corruption for the sake of the people, and provide for their basic nutritional, health, and sanitary needs. Amen.
